ZXSpace power-ups are divided into player-specific and shared-world effects. Player-specific power-ups affect only the cannon that collects them, while shared-world power-ups affect the whole battlefield.

Collect the right power-up at the right moment to strengthen your attack, protect your defences, or turn a dangerous wave back in your favour.

Power-ups appear during gameplay after defeated enemies drop them. Stay alert for falling pickups and collect them before they leave the screen.

Some power-ups can completely change the outcome of a difficult wave, so positioning your cannon to collect them safely is an important part of mastering ZXSpace.

These five power-ups affect only the player who collects them.

• Double Laser — Fires two lasers for 9 seconds. Best used during heavy enemy waves.
• Triple Laser — Fires three lasers for 6 seconds. Excellent against dense enemy formations.
• Piercing Laser — Lasers pass through multiple enemies for 7 seconds, making it ideal for lined-up attacks.
• Hull Repair — Restores one point of the collecting cannon's hull. Most valuable after taking damage.
• Score Multiplier — Doubles the collecting player's score for 10 seconds. Collect it before large enemy groups for maximum points.

These three power-ups affect the entire battlefield and benefit every player.

• Shield Repair — Restores a portion of the city's shields, giving everyone more time to defend it.
• EMP Pulse — Clears enemy projectiles and stuns enemies for 3 seconds, creating valuable breathing room.
• Smart Bomb — Destroys enemy projectiles while damaging every remaining enemy on the screen, making it perfect during overwhelming attacks.

Use Double Laser, Triple Laser, and Piercing Laser during the busiest enemy waves to maximise their damage and clear threats quickly.

Hull Repair and Shield Repair become increasingly valuable later in a game when every point of health can decide whether a city survives.

EMP Pulse and Smart Bomb are powerful emergency tools. Saving them for the most dangerous moments can rescue a city that is close to falling.
