More Than a Health Bar

Unlike traditional arcade tank games, ZXTank doesn't rely on a single health bar. Every tank is made up of individual systems that influence how it moves, fights and survives.

Damage affects the part of the tank that was hit, creating battles where positioning and tactics matter just as much as accurate shooting.

Hull

The hull is the heart of your tank and determines whether it can remain in the battle. Protecting the hull is essential, as its destruction removes the tank from combat.

Strong positioning, careful use of cover and repairing damage quickly are the best ways to keep your tank operational.

Left & Right Tracks

Each track is monitored independently. Damage to one side affects how your tank drives, making straight movement more difficult and causing the tank to pull towards the weaker track.

Managing damaged tracks becomes an important skill, especially when crossing bridges, navigating villages or escaping enemy fire.

Engine

Mounted at the rear of the tank, the engine controls acceleration and overall mobility. Rear attacks can reduce your ability to reposition quickly or escape dangerous situations.

A damaged engine makes every movement decision more important, encouraging players to seek repairs before rejoining the fight.

Turret

The turret rotates independently from the hull, allowing you to engage enemies while driving in a different direction. Damage slows turret movement and makes aiming more challenging.

Even when a turret becomes completely seized, it can still fire in its locked direction. Skilled commanders can rotate the hull itself to continue fighting until repairs are made.

Radar

Your radar provides valuable battlefield awareness by helping detect enemy activity beyond the visible screen.

As the radar becomes damaged, detection range is reduced, making ambushes more likely and increasing the importance of teamwork, observation and map awareness.

Repairing Damage

Successful attacks can knock repairable components from enemy tanks. These salvage parts remain on the battlefield for any player to collect.

Recovering salvage and making use of Repair Depots allows damaged systems to be restored, helping commanders return to full fighting strength.

Every Battle Is Different

Because different systems can be damaged independently, no two battles play out in exactly the same way. A tank with damaged tracks behaves very differently from one with a damaged engine or a seized turret.

Learning how to adapt to battlefield damage—and how to exploit damage on enemy tanks—is one of the key skills that separates experienced commanders from beginners.
